Through the Looking Glass

1. Begin at the beginning, and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

2. "I beg your pardon?" said Alice. "It isn't respectable to beg," said the King.

3. "I am real!" said Alice, and began to cry. "You won't make yourself a bit realler by crying," Tweedledee remarked: "there's nothing to cry about."

4. 'Contrariwise,' continued Tweedledee, 'if it was so, it might be; and if it were so, it would be; but as it isn't, it ain't. That's logic.'

5. "That's the effect of living backwards," the Queen said kindly: "it always makes one a little giddy at first-----"

6. But it's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.

7. Now, here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that.
Post Notes: I’m getting some dental bridgework done in Blacksburg, so I’ve had more opportunities to take pictures of the mirrored mosaic wall on the Food Time gas station, which is near my dentist. The above lines are from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Every shot is self-portrait. More photos of it are HERE.

You took a lot of pictures...did any passersby notice or think it odd? Or are they all from Wonderland?

Everyone thinks I'm odd when I start taking pictures. I have only recently gotten over that. I'm enthralled with the place and will probably go back for more. Next up might be a view of the whole thing and how unlikely it is for a gas station.
I worked in Blacksburg part time at my friend's bead shop for over ten years and saw it many times but never really stopped to study it. So I feel that in doing so now I'm making real progress in life.

Marvelous. And the quotes make more sense than average words anywhere.

Lots of wisdom in Alice In Wonderland! Good luck with the dentist...

Cool! I've seen bird baths made with mosaics made from broken china (in tribute to the original owner). It must be quite a sight to see this wall.
I'm having a root canal next Friday and am already getting anxious. Good luck with your bridgework.

Very cool mosiac (or mosiacs) and it's pretty interesting how you got yourself into the pictures of them.
Michele sent me (though I have to apologize as I thought I was going somewhere else at first, I didn't quite figure out that there was a page 2 until after the fact).
