You Don't Need a Weathervane to Know Which Way the Wind Blows

snobrds23.gif
My living room window is like a wide screen TV where I'm watching the Saturday morning snow show. Wood smoke pours down from the chimney and floats in and out of the downy flurry. Birds hop and peck at the seed below the feeder. Tree limbs catch flakes. Inside where it's toasty warm, water pipes tick and the rocking chair squeaks. Closing my eyes for my morning meditation, I become aware of how drowsy I am. Soon, my head drops down to my chest and the dreamless morning drifts like a spilled pillow of angora falling silently to the floor.

Thanks for the comment Colleen. Your video is very peaceful, and I like the living room window as a wide screen TV. When I want to flick through channels I just take a walk around the neighborhood and look in other windows.

no more blessed view anywhere in the world...

This takes me back to the time when my daughter was a baby.....we had a rocking chair next to a window with bird feeders and a garden and I used to sit there for hours rocking her and singing to her and watching the birds. Precious.

Rabbit, Rabbit

birdies in the snow are always fun to watch.

Love those dark-eyed juncos! I'm watching the same outside our window. Happy February!

I'm happy to know what kind of birds they are. I was just wondering about that today. They are definately the majority in my yard.

Oh my ... what a beautiful wintry view ;-)
Hugs and blessings,

I think it is: "You Don't Need a Weatherman to Know Which Way the Wind Blows." And I could be wrong, but wasn't it a reference to the political group the weathermen as well? Sounds like something to google...but I have to go. Sorry. :)

You're right. I just checked. But I think Bob should have named it the way I did! I've always "seen" a weather vane in my mind when singing or listening to that song. I guess I was too naive to get the political reference when the song was out and I was singing and loving it.

sounds like a restful time. I watch the window a lot. it's increased my love of pigeons.

I like the peacefulness of this TV too!! xo
