Wendy Wants a Bigger Island
There are no cell phones on Neverland
So, Wendy emails Peter to say
that she's joined a 12-step program
and is sewing new curtains
for the Darling home nursery
Oh and by the way
bring home some milk and bread for dinner
Captain Hook is coming over
Wendy says
Peter wants a divorce
but can't afford the alimony
He storms off the island
Takes a job in construction
He won't wear a tie to court

Every time, and this time included, that I think about marriage and divorce, I lose my sense of humor. I try not to, but it happens anyway. I keep hoping that Wendy and Peter will grow up and realize that they have to earn each others keep. They have to try hard, and choose to love anew each day. But, in the end, they did choose to be children forever, and children are selfish, and often choose candy instead of fruit.
