A Difference of Opinion

I’ve been having a difficult time trying to find a doctor that I can work with, probably because this (burdock root ready for steaming and tincturing) is my idea of medicine.

Colleen,
I know this is a long way from you but there is a lady here in Winston-Salem and she is a naturopath. She has done wonders for my husband and some of his problems. She has a machine she hooks up to and can see everything that is wrong with you and addresses each issue slowly. She only uses natural substances. He is borderline diabetic and he now has that under control. Please e-mail if yo would like more info on this lady. She says every doctor in Germany has these machines and use them all of the time.

It grows wild, the plant with the burrs that stick in the fall. The root makes a great tonic and is good for the liver.
Thanks for the tip. redhead. I was hoping for someone closer, an MD that is up on and supportive of holistic treatments. My idea of preventative health is different than the mainstream's.
I once went to a doctor in Asheville but the distance makes it not sustainable. If anyone else has a tip please feel free to leave the info.

I believe Anahata, Luke and Laurelsong's place, has the machine that redhead speaks of.

What a timely post. I'm sort of looking for a holistic type doctor in Floyd area. Think I'll email chris...

Hmmm...I can't seem to pull up redhead's email link. Can you provide to me via my email? Thanks.

i was glad to hear my internist in atlanta just got certified in holistic medicine to supplement her wide knowledge of medicine. she will weave this into her medical practice, offering patients the best of both worlds. i see her once or twice a year when we are on the east coast and think i am the luckiest woman to have this great physician looking over me. wish i could find a fabulous one here. with the emphasis on holistic healing in this area and bastyr university here in seattle i thought it would be an easy climb to find a wonderful doc. not so yet.

Wish I could help. Have you considered a D.O. instead of an M.D.? Some of those folks are a little more open to different procedures. Good luck.

Burdock root is in the Hoxsey mixture. Also Wolf used to chew on it. He never could swallow it but he would just peel it raw and chew on it. We used to buy it at the health food store in VA Beach. Too many pesticides on the shore to get anything out of the ground there.
