Bryce is adorable!! Now there will never be a quiet moment again.

Nettles, good for you! And I love that huge old tree. What it has seen go by, without being asleep with Rip!

Maybe Rip went to Virginia Tech. That's where the photo was taken, last week when I visited the duck pond.

Are you going to make soup or tea from them? We have lots of them around here, but i never used them to make anything.

I steamed them up like spinach and ate them. Delicious. I used to make a Nettles tea infusion using dried leaves but fresh ones probably work as well, just steep for 6 hours or so and the leaves off and drink. It's very nourishing, recommended by my favorite herbalist Susun Weed.

I was going to ask what you did with those things and I see your note. I didn't even see in your link where they were edible. You are so brave. I would always be afraid I had the wrong plant. It looks almost like those wild strawberry vines I have popping up everywhere.

I love Bryce's photo standing and eating, he is so cute!

ouch - have i been stung by nettles! i know cooking them is supposed to disable the stinging hairs, but i would be so afraid my throat might feel like my hand! i don't think i could put them in my mouth! :)

oh, steamed nettles, huh. I haven't had them like that. I've heard them as an infusion. How's the taste? like spinach too?

Taste green, not as much like spinach as lamb's quarters.

I love that Byrce, Byrce, Baby can walk now. He is a living doll.
I love that huge tree too, where the heck is it located? xo

I answered that in comment #2. I'll take you there next time you visit. We can feed the ducks.

what a beautiful old soul...sandy
