And don’t forget to stop and smell the wildflowers.

Photos: 1. Hay is being cut all over Floyd County. I got behind a load of it on my way home from town yesterday. 2. Our nephew, David, who reads my blog, takes a practice swing. He’s in town to participate in the Teen Meditation Retreat that Joe is managing, hosted by at Earthsong in Stuart. 3. What can I say? I said ‘say cheese’ but only one person was listening. 4. A row of children watching the fireworks on the Fourth of July. 5. I was thinking of Sandy -- who lives in Florida and misses the wildflowers of this area -- when I took this photo on the side of the road. At least one person pulled over to see if my car had broke down.

Wildflowers make life worth living, don't they.

great photos...it is so lovely there!

Good pix, Colleen. Five of my grandkids will be at camp for two weeks in Rural Retreat, starting tomorrow. Their mom is ecstatic!

At least one person pulled over to see if you were broken down. That's why I love it here.

Isn't it great that someone stopped to check on you? I always love it when someone cares enough to call me and tell me a cow is out... it happens less and less, though (the calls, not the escaping cows).

having a glorious summer I loved it sandy

As always, wonderful pictures and captions, Colleen! Wildflowers make me happy.

Joe is a riot. I always love your pics and I love you!! xo

Hi .. I'm here from michele's ... nice pics. Recently the council in our place have been planting (or scattering) wild flowers along the edges of the highway ... it looks great.

Oh, I love these pictures! Had your car broken down? (lol)...Or were you just stopping to smell the wildflowers? I think it was the latter.

I pulled over when I saw a neighbor on the side of the road a few weeks ago but she was just making sunset photos. I told her I completely understood! Your nephew is a cutie.

glad you keep your eye out for the photo ops.
