Serene Green

I felt the need for some mountain green scenes. This one, just up the road from our The Blue Ridge Parkway driveway, was taken during the greening of May.

It's still easy to get farm fresh eggs here in the mountains. This sign is for the family-run Sweet Providence Farm, which I recently passed on my way down the mountain to Roanoke to babysit for my new grandson.

One of my neighbors. I actually got chased by a bull once, so I used my zoom lens for this shot.

We sometimes get fresh eggs from Jody & Tom's hens. Boy, what a difference from the store eggs! Delicious!!

oh, i love the "free range eggs for sale" photo, though all are remarkable, as usual! that one, however, would be perfect matted and framed on a kitchen wall. maybe you should go into business?

We can still get the farm fresh eggs just up the road. It almost seems, in the past six years or so, that more and more people are farming chickens to keep things homegrown.
At least, in this area. Interesting.
Love the bull picture. Looks like he wouldn't hurt a fly now, right? No siree ... don't believe it! :)

Now, how cool is that? I've been trying to talk D into having laying chickens. He's not convinced....
