Sign of the Times
The following poem, written for the New Year 2004, was a featured "Poem of the Day" at Poets Against the War online that year and also appeared in The New River Valley Free Press. I think it still applies.
Sign of the Times
Put a “Do Not Disturb” sign
over the forest
Hang an “Out of Order” sign
on the White House door
Proceed with caution
Yield to your conscience
Handle the whole world
with care

I think that saying is so completely true, for 2004 and 2005. I hope that eventually we as a nation will start thinking with our brains again. You have such a great talent with writing things :) Big hugs and best wishes for a great 2006!

Had I remembered your poem from 2004, I would have used it, for it fits well with my entry today. Happy New Year to you Colleen, and to Joe, Josh, Dylan and all your readers. Kathy

This really takes me back. It's good to hear a positive thought, and great to know that some of us can still be outraged by institutionalized idiocy in DC. Have the greatest of years, Colleen.
