Yep it is that wonderful time of year and finally has gotten warmer. We had a brief few days of cold and I was worried fall had hurried on by.

Gorgeous! I was starting to fear we’d have next to no color but it seems to finally be showing itself.

I was telling everyone that not much was happening on the large scale (as seen from the Parkway views) but then I drove up to the overlooks (a few minutes from my house) and thought, okay, NOW it is peak. Still not one of our best but pretty darn head turning all the same.

I see that the trees in the mountains have much more color than here. I had hoped that Williamsburg would show the typical bright reds and oranges of fall, but alas, not yet. Patchy color. Some trees that have lost all their leaves and others still green. Two more weeks.

Lovely pics! It’s nice to see there are still leaves in some parts…with a few more heavy rains and/or windy days ours will be all gone. Happy WW!

Your pictures are so lovely, Colleen. I especially love the one with the children dancing in the field with the vast expanse of mountains behind them. They look so joyful.

Ravishing. I love this season so much! You’ve done a fine job here. By the way, I’ve also seen “Isle of View” for people who are just too shy to say “I love you.”

we’re at about the same stage of fall here, barely past that level of oranges and reds.
