One more thing…My friend Pete at Hollins is going in for heart surgery next week.
I spoke to him on Monday, a cold rainy bleary day. He said he’d miss me over break, and I thought of visiting him in the hospital. He’s from Brooklyn. I left, walked to my car. He called after me, in that similar thick accent:
“See ya later, kiddo!”
I laughed. And cried.
When you are grieving, it’s good to know there are those out there who are grieving with you. That you CAN still laugh. That Elliot would want us to laugh, and dance, and read his work.

Lovely, Lovely….really. I enjoyed reading about your friend and I thank you for sharing this wonderful tribute to him.
Incidentally Coleen, the books still haven’t come, but…maybe tomorrow! I will keep you informed.
