Thirteen Thursday Rambler

samp0dcb4233b2066600.jpg1. Black tea is like whiskey to herb tea’s wine.

2. I don’t like chocolate for the sake of it. For me, chocolate is like a condiment to go with mint, peanut butter, ice cream, or cherries.

3. I never had a baby shower or wedding shower. But I do love baths.

4. I have an imaginary green shamrock tattoo somewhere on my body, haven’t imagined where yet.

5. Emily Dickinson’s version of making the sign of the cross (In the name of the Father, the Son, and Holy Ghost) is: “In the name of the Birds, the Bees, and the Breeze,” (taught to me by a monk in South Carolina).

6. I talked to my friend Jayn (turning 60 this year) on the phone; it had been awhile. She said, “My life has been so full.” I answered, “Yeah, and we get full faster than we used to.

7. Last Sunday night Joe and I went dancing to the Emily Brass Band at the Pine Tavern. We slept in late the next morning. When we woke up, I said to him, “Joe, it’s Monday. Do you know where your job is?”

8. Interesting fact heard on David Letterman: 95% of people texting and blogging who type LOL are actually NOT laughing out loud.

9. Upsetting use of adversity in TV advertising heard recently: Stop global warming or all the Reese’s Cups will melt.

10. Not only did I used to love Led Zepplin’s song “Ramble On” when I was a teenager, I also drove a Rambler. Does anyone remember those?

11. I’ve decided to name my computer “The Enterprise,” and think of my work station as the “bridge,” although I’m more of a nutty professor in a word lab than a Captain Kirk exploring outer space.

12. Today I love the word “warp,” as in warp drive, warp speed, and warp spasm; and when I googled an image search for “warp,” I got THIS!”

13. If celebrities moved to Oklahoma HERE.

Thursday headquarters is here. My other 13's are here. View more 13 Thursday’s here.

4, cool, 6, you and me both, 8, I believe it. everything is hiked higher. no one rotfl either. 11, all this wonder of you and a trekkie too; the things I didn't know. :)

My Dad used to have a Rambler...it was one of those ones with push buttons for the gears!

My parents had a Rambler when I was a kid. Fun list. Happy T13!

I love what you said to your husband after a night of dancing!!

Eight cracks me up--at their expense!

8. Interesting fact heard on David Letterman: 95% of people texting and blogging who type LOL are actually NOT laughing out loud. made me truly lol I love your imaginary tatoo

Every one of these made me laugh or smile - a few even made me LOL. Honest.

Great 13s...Ramblers I remember those! #8 is probably very true - even though I did LOL at a few of your 13s...

My mom had a rambler with push button gears on the dash!
I'd eat chocolate for anyone's sake!!! I even love melted Reeses!

I hopy your tatoo will remain imaginary, lol ! I am not a fan of tatoos!

Great TT. I would have thought that the true statistic for #8 would be more like 100%

Never thought of chocolate as a condiment but you are right!! LOL.
And yes: I am actually not laughing.
(well, now I am!!)

5 and 10 so fun - do you love great moments in Presidential speeches when David Letterman makes fun of your boy Goerge.W. I'm being facetious of course..

Maybe not LOL but GBS, thanks for perking up my morning! Love the celebs, so true, what a difference a zip code makes. I recently looked up warp also, not sure what that means... Great TT!

2. Oh no...chocolate needs nothing else :-)
5. I love this!
10. I used to drive a Rambler, as a matter of fact.

Those warp pictures were dizzying! Wow. Those things could trigger a fit!

OMG # 12 hurt my eyes! Also? The upsetting ads? I have been learning a LOT about advertising in marketing, and it's really quite scary how they come up with that stuff and, even more scary is WHY it works.

Happy Thursday! I always love your links!!

I don't foresee having any baby showers myself but lord knows I've been to enough. I should have a party for the Thugs just to get some presents back! I wasn't going to have a shower either because I felt bad about it since I was getting married in the Bahamas and everyone couldn't be there but my immediate family and friends insisted. I kept it very private though. Now the Bachlorette party, that I wanted and liked!

Good food for thought... for an innkeeper :)

happy tt

#12 and #13 are the best!!!!! xoxo

sometimes i eat chocolate just so i can drink some milk.

I love #4, and my parents had a Rambler.
Happy TT, mine is also up.

Oh, I just remembered I DID have a wedding shower the second time around, only not called that. It was a blessingway and had a bachlorette side to it. I got presents too!

Fun list as always and I love the new 'header' ... very clever! I’m with you on #2 and my ‘imaginary’ tattoo is a ‘butterfly’ … I’m one of the 5% who ARE actually LOL when I type the letters ;--)
Hope you’re having a delightful day!
Hugs and blessings,

The Reese's Cups will melt???? That is effective advertising. I do remember Ramblers and I like the idea of an idea of a tatoo.

I have an imaginary tattoo of the Chalice Wells on my back. I think I might make it real some day... ;)

Do you ballroom dance? I do love your blog....

3 brought a grin thinking about baby showers-baby baths...wedding showers-wedding baths. Maybe if we were all required to bathe together we would think about it longer...

I guess the shower term came from "showering" someone with gifts.

No ballroom dancing ... all out reggae rocking.

"But I do love baths."

Most awesome line I've read in a long while. :-)

I enjoyed your ramble. I owned a 1972 Gremlin, which was made by the same company that made Ramblers, American Motors. It was a POS.

these lists are always fun. i drove an old rambler ambassadaor during college years - and i loved that car!

the page about celebrities in oklahoma is hysterical!

girl, i wish i shared your perspective about chocolate and your love of dancing...my body would look more like yours!
