First, happy birthday joeyk! Give him a hug for me.
Second, was that a cardinal??? I thought it a last leaf.
Third, the pinwheel was fun to watch - which I can do these days without pulling my hair out (back on broadband). Judy and I have been talking about getting a wind meter for Blackberry Ridge...maybe we should start with this!
It's a one lone bright red leaf! I saw it yesterday and stopped in my tracks. It's on the forsythia bush just outside my front door and seems to me to be making a statement about the coming of Christmas and winter snow. I'm going to check on it to still if it's still there today.
I just got lost in the world of pinwheels on youtube. I love them and there are some good clips, better than the one I made. One of my favorites is in a Robert Plant's music video, The Big Log. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZQL22xOmUM
After that picture of Joe was shot we got up and danced together to the songs on the CD he's holding: Corinne Bailey Rae.
I love the bright red leaf against the silvery grey branches. Nice photo!
Happy Birthday to Joe!
That's the prettiest pinwheel I ever saw. Sorry I couldn't see it spin. (the curse of dial-up internet!)
Why? Did Jim like pinwheels? If you read up a ways you'll see that we kept things simple but had a very nice private dance party...slow and fast dancing.

Gorgeous bird. This morning I saw a dead female cardinal on the sidewalk. Sad. It's very frozen and cold here in Boston.
