The Wedding Cake

1. The bride and groom were a vision in their wedding robes of gold, as they read their vows by the Little River in the presence of family and friends.

2. The impressive chocolate raspberry wedding cake was delivered from the back of an SUV. Heads turned as it was being set up, like a work of sacred art sitting center stage on an altar.

3. It took eight hours to bake and another eight to decorate the proud master baker creator told me.

4. Oh, it was so hard to wait and to keep from touching it.

5. Soon it began to draw a crowd.

6. Then the cake paparazzi descended, snapping pictures. The bride and groom were cheered on as they ceremoniously cut into it and began putting slices on plates to pass around.

7. It tasted as good as it looked, and there was more than enough to go around. Some people (me) took home a dessert doggie bag.
Post note: Congratulations to Luke and Laurel!

I love both chocolate and raspberry. That is a very different wedding cake than I am used to seeing in my business.

Looks wonderful! My grandma used to put raspberry jam in between the layers of chocolate cake.
Interesting wedding!

Now that looks like a wicked good cake. Michele sent me, and she wants to know where her doggy bag is.

What a lovely wedding. That cake looks like one would slip into a chocolate coma after eating... a nap would be in order after this... at least!

Remember when I made your wedding cake?
It was your first marriage and it was a carrot cake....3 tiers/layers. You loved it and I loved making it. xoox
PS This cake looks hard to make and all the decorative pieces. Were the raspberries mixed in with the chocolate or on there own?

The story of how the cake came to be, and how it was received, will, I think, form an appropriate starting point for a new life together. It's neat how the small aspects of a milestone event - in my case, for example, the red sneakers that I wore for our wedding photos - become memorable parts of our lives going forward.
Your sharing the cake in this way has ensured that it, too, will become an artifact for the future.

Looks so festive. Open air like your vows too.
Cake looks good. Think I'll go root around for some chocolate...

I never saw the raspberries but tasted them. The cake was surrounded in coconut and pieces of chocolate. Yes, I do remember that three tiered carrot cake, She. I wish I had taken a photo of it. My love for carrot cake remains. I actually like a good one more than chocolate.
Red sneakers adds a unique touch, good feng shui, and symbol of love and life.

This is the time of weddings and new beginnings. I attended one this weekend, too, and have another one coming up in a couple of weeks!

A dessert doggie bag, let me guess - no dogs at your house?
A truly beautiful cake and wedding, too. Glad you got some pictures and shared with all of us cyberjunkies.

Nope. But my childhood nickname was Colly Dog or Colly Wolly Wolf.

Now, tell me really...should a cake outshine the bride??? By the way I had to get a napkin to wipe the drool from my mouth.

No wonder that baker was so proud! What a creation. Congratulations to the newlyweds. I can't help but think of a childhood soap opera when I hear "Luke and Laura"...weren't they like a big deal on maybe General Hospital?

I want to get married, any brides left. Want to meet woman with house or property that needs work. A love of craft making, woodworking desired. Separate but equal cabins joined by covered walkways.

Hi Sunray, Hello from Massachusetts. Sounds like a good classified ad you've written. Want to put it in the Museletter?
