The Overnight Sensation

The boasting crocus
woke us for spring
The dandelions are next
ready for roaring!
Post note: I'm still working on the conclusion to Wednesday's entry, "My Love/Hate Relationship with Writing," which I thought would be ready today. My new plan is to post it for Sunday/Monday.

Wow look at those things! They are so pretty. I haven't found a single crocus this year. I wonder if the Thugs squished them all?

On Tuesday they weren't there. On Wednesday they were!

Oh, I love anything purple... our purple lantana are blooming like crazy and smelling up the whole yard. Spring is definitely waking up.

Gorgeous! Autumn is my favorite season, but I think Spring comes in a close second.

we don't have anything opening up yet. in fact, we are in the middle of another ice/snowstorm. we had purple and yellow crocus' at our former house and loved seeing them pop up in the spring.

I just noticed some crocus yesterday too! The kids and I were out getting all the big leaves out of my flower boxes yesterday and I have a horrible case of spring fever!!! I can't wait for the warm weather to stay!

I came with the expectation of the second part of your Roanoke Times story. Drats!
I'm a purple girl so I find the crocus particularly lovely!

Thanks for the note, Colleen. I see it there in the bold type! Yikes! I'm more scattered than I thought today! Looking forward to the rest of the story.
Have a great weekend.

We were awakened the other day with a 10 Celsius day-gift...but only tiny shoots have peeked out and we may get some more snow yet! I envy you your gift of purple!

What an amazing color photo. Thanks.
Colleen: I am going to be in the Fancy Gap area Mon & Tues with my daughter & hubby looking for something for them to buy. Is there anything in your area that is tucked way off the beaten track and reasonable? (by that, I mean under $80,000)

It's a Sony Cybershot. Digital. 6.0 megapixels. I think it cost around $220. I love it cause it's small and very pocket friendly.

The dandelions have multiplied like rabbits this last week.
Would the cold snap beat them back a little. Probably not.
