Just Another Day at the Office
I worked all weekend. For nine years I provided full-time foster care for an adult with physical and developmental disabilities. Now I do it occasionally to give other providers respite. On Sunday I put in a full day. We went to the Beaver Pond on the Blue Ridge Parkway with a packed picnic lunch. After lunch, we set our chairs up in the grass under a tree and waved to the motorcyclists as they went by. Sometimes they would beep, which provided an added thrill.

The simple pleasures are the best in life, yes? What a generous heart you have to provide such a helping hand.
A dear friend is an RN and has chosen to finish her career as a hospice nurse. I am in awe of such strong spirits.

Sounds like a great way to spend a spring Sunday...especially the part about watching the traffic go by.

The pink sneakers look good here.
Who are the others? They look like Johnny's, not Joe's.

Sounds like a calm day. Nine years is a long time to provide that kind of care.
How was the house pulling down? I bet your son finds all kinds of treasures!

A woman who used to live in the house came by. They worked for two days, nail by nail, mostly salavaging the materials. Video and some photos to come at some point.

I bet your charge had a wonderful time and giving him that would certainly brighten the day.
