Today I Stopped to Smell the Roses

Today I stopped to smell the roses that were sprawled along a white picket fence..

I walked through a pink door into a store that sells books and has a wireless internet connection.

I did not go fishing.

Today I sat on a purple bench to write this down.

I learned that palm trees drop berries.

Hi Colleen
How wonderfull you stopped to do little things. My favorite saying since I got sick and lost my dear Hubby. I tell everyone to take time for themselves and and take time to smell the roses. Take care..

Today I am jealous as my eye sees the snow outside changing to sleet and finally to ICE.

Hi everyone! Thanks for visiting and for sharing the Cedar Key journey with me. I have more photos and adventure tales to tell, but it's been tricky getting online and I haven't had a moment to visit you all...so I will catch up when I get a vacation from the vacation. Stay tuned....

What are those berries for? I saw those things either yellowed or black on the palms in St. Martin and didn't know what they were for...and when they say you eat the "heart of palm" what is that exactly?
Looks like you are having a wonderful time! I loved your pictures and the colors in them. Your first one reminded me that I read a story the other day in the newspaper that rose growers are giving up more smell to give the roses more life in the vase. You can sacrafice smell for staying power. Personally I think that stinks and is unfair to the roses!

Hi Deana,
I'm in the island motel parking lot borrowing a connection. Joe is trying to make a date with someone for golf and then we're on our way to see an eagle nest. I don't know what the berries are for, but they are dark and hard and the birds eat them. I guess the seeds drop this time of year.
The roses smelled lovely. I might have to pick one for an impromtu valentine present for Joe!
Today is my son Dylan's birthday!!

Colleen, I had to find out from terri that you were in cedar Island...LOL. I blame Bloglines for not telling me you had new posts! I have missed so much. I guess I'm going to have to check everyone's blog everyday - and not rely on Bloglines anymore. Sorry - and have a great vacation.

Today I saw white in every direction. My day wasn't as colorful as yours, but I bet it was a lot colder. Brrrr.....!
Nice Post. Happy Birthday to Dylan.
