Shake This Poem

novtrees2.jpg
Drink the blue slowly
Let the bite-sized words

CLINK

Like ice cubes come together
for the sake of a drink

The wind is picking up.
The temperature is expected to be 80 today... balmy.
They say we will have rain but no ice, no snow.... and not much rain at that.
Tomorrow is supposed to be 32 degrees cooler.

I think there is one more week of class and then finals at W&M. They started later this fall because of a planned Jamestown celebration over the Christmas break. Since she is an RA, she has to stay until all the others leave. This means I have no idea when she will be here for Christmas.

Michele sent me over to your side of the state, Colleen.

That's a pretty picture and a very short but eloquent poem. "clink" certainly changes the tone of things.

Hello again. Are you now sitting there thinking... "srp has lost her mind" from my last comment? My eyes are blurred this morning. I thought a comment left on mine asking about Nyssa was you... my mistake....

But, is it cold there in Floyd yet? Are you expecting to get snow or rain?

That is a lovely photo and the words fit so perfectly with the context. Came here via Claire's, Being Me.

Shaken, not stirred? I'll drink to that, another great poem by Colleen.

SRP, I thought you were just more talkative than normal! They keep threatening it will be colder soon, but it's still warm just wet and windy now. It's supposed to drop down tomorrow.

Susan, Actually the word maybe should be swirl or swish?" But those just don't have the right impact. What's the word for when you stir a glass in a circle pattern to allow a drink to breathe?

Since my aura color is blue, I am taking the "Blue" in your poem and applying it literally to my life.

So this weekend, I shall drink the BLUE slowly and no telling what will happen. ;-)

Nice picture. Happy Dec. 1.

Short and Sweet, Colleen!
Lovely picture, too!

Let's Clink in December
A month we remember
It's just barely here
Then we've got Christmas cheer!

Beautiful poem

The title reminds me of "Shake-the-Bag Poems" I used to do with kids. They fill the bg with words, shake the bag and draw some, then arrange them into a poetry form. Was neat since you could do theme words and it would help them in their spelling and journals! I always wanted to do that with adults at a workshop!

Grinning at both the picture and the poem! Was happy to see you in my newly-arrived copy of We'Moon 07, too.

ooh now that reminds me... the lets are in bed. time for a gin and tonic methinks :)

lovely.

Keda, Are you saying that my poetry is going drive you to drink? Ha!
