So beautiful...I've never been able to get any good pictures of Butterfly's...these are sooooo wonderful Colleen. Such gorgeous creatures, aren't they?
Gorgeous photos! Butterflies are just amazing, aren't they? Thank you for stopping by my blog - I liked your suggestion so I added a "today" shot of my brother and I. Thanks!
Remarkable. Butterflies are so, well, they're just wonderful...the other day, I stopped during the middle of my run to catch my breath and looked to the bushes on my right to find 3 banana spiders in one 7 foot wide web between two trees.
Also quite remarkable.
I found your site via My Life Is One. Great writing!
Ah, now wasn't that worth the chase all over the yard. Great shots. Butterflies are such awesome creatures. I have yet to get a photo of the first species you feature, I love those but can't seem to pin them down with the camera for a picture!
I'm glad you all appreciate how much work I've put into being distracted by butterflies this summer and chasing them around my yard. I'm just gearing up for the monarch migration!
Colleen! that's beautiful! May I just echo what the others said! There is nothing more thrilling than to be right behind the lenses at the right moment. :)
Col,
I remember on one of our first trips to VA., when the kids were younger we went to some buttefly sanctuary (I forget the name).
Your pictures instilled the same kind of feeling as I had when I was there. Butterflys must be kinda magical.

A butterfly convention! They are so beautiful. Around here, they don't sit long enough for me to get a good photo.

Wow! What kind of flowers did you plant? The butterflies love them.

I don't remember any kind of butterly sanctuary. I'd love to go to one, though.
I think the photos have more to do with the zoom lens than they do with the kind of flower. Zinnias!

what beautiful pictures! I especially like the last one...kinda looks like a mirror image of the butterfly on the right!
