Are those flowers behind the sun flower the Jeruselum Artichokes? I've never seen them, but I recall Edgar Cayce suggesting them in readings for healing. I always wondered what they were.
Great shots!

Yes, the tall yellow flowers are Jerusalem Artichokes. Joe got them from a friend and planted them years ago. Occasionally he digs up the tubers and eats them, but I don't care for them. Although, they make a great survival food and they grow on the sides of the road around here.
I just did a quick look up and found that Cayce recommeded them for diabetes. Raw, they taste like water chestnuts, but can also be cooked. Another reason they are a good survival food is that they are harvested all through the fall into spring when other foods are scarce.

I need a picture for "tired" this Monday!!!! Move-in day at the college dorm is coming up... I just love those. (much sarcasm) It is the only time I wish I had a husband or that Nyssa was a boy. (If she were a young man I could throw the bags in the back of his pick-up and wave bye. Boys live smaller than girls do.

Hi again, Colleen: Thanks for answering on my blog. The address for my friend in Alaska is twofleas.blogspot.com but even putting in just twofleas (under Blogger.com) will bring it up. Ginnie

I swam in that pool often while growing up. I also played a lot of golf there as well. But when I was a member there were only 9 holes, and the part of the course you can see from your photo was part driving range, part grassy field, part and part woods. Speaking of nostalgic, I think it was a lot prettier then than now.
