Road Talk
It looks like we left Colorado just in time, before the 20 some odd feet of snow came down. Here, at home, we haven't even had a frost. The colorful fall foliage is getting a late start, and the strange changing weather patterns are evident by the fact that it’s mid October and I’m still picking tomatoes!
Overheard in our truck while driving back from Colorado…
Joe to Colleen: How do you like your new truck?
Colleen: How do you like me now?
Joe: Can you hear me now?
Colleen: The power of now?
Joe: Flowing with the Tao.
Colleen: How now brown cow?
Joe: Cowabunga!
Colleen: Touché
End of conversation.

I was thinking of you when I heard about the blizzard in Colorado. Good timing.

That was a fun conversation and no doubt you could have kep it up a little longer.....LOL.
I can't believe that CO got 20' of snow this early! It is a beautiful state, but I am thanking my lucky stars I don't live there!

We're having a very slow start for autumn leaves here in SE Pennsylvania.
Our maple trees are still very green.

I remember conversations like that on our long trips! They are amusing aren't they? Love reading your journal.

I concur with cassie-b's comment... the fall is off to a late start around here in PA. The normally vibrant colors in the Lehigh Valley and up in the Poconos haven't really put in an appearance yet. I hope they arrive soon!
I have been enjoying reading your posts from the road... love the picture of you guys camping amongst the aspens. The last time my husband and I went to Colorado (about three years ago) I didn't want to leave. It is so beautiful there. For some reason, I'd much rather shovel snow in Colorado than here in Allentown!

Yeah, snow is so much more glamourous in Colorado!
And hey, Mary. I like your site too, but it doesn't let me comment. I can't comment at cassie's site either, but I would if I could!

Lovely picture. I just returned from a trip to Denver on Oct. 8. We drove on I70 by the mining towns, the ski towns, the blazing aspens, and the towering rocks of Glenwood Canyon. We were glad to beat the snow home too.
